Our government just expressed its sorrow and aked for forgiveness for not preventing the assassination of Patrice Lumumba in 1960 or so.

BTW, while Leopold II was reingning, what was going on in the US in terms of dealing with the Natives?
The US wouldn't be what it is now if the laws that are applied today had existed at the time. Same for every country.
