all countries have minorities and we are all minorities relative to a community.
I am french speaking in the flemish side of the country, so I belong to a minority. I decided to stay rather than move away, but it meant I was going to speak flemish all the time. People are exactly the same (well, a bit more dynamic in the flemish side) and as long as we respect each other, we get integrated all the more easily.
I wonder how many conservative americans understand what humiliation is all about. Like the flemish, in 1914, who got killed because their french speaking officers issued orders in french, a language the soldiers didn't understand.
Palestinians and Israeli will live close to each other. It's going to have to be as neighbours respecting each other and not as one community humiliating the other.
We have to keep the dialogue, we have to undertstand the other side and respect it. Because we are all part of a minority.
