Sorta, kinda free trade? One-way free trade? Darned free trade on the stuff I have a lot of kinda free trade. Seems logically inconsistent, maybe hypocritical.

To think that guy calls himself a Republican!!! If he really did put that kind of tariff on imported steel he'd really have to be logically inconsistent, not a real free-trader, I'd think. Not Republican, at all. Trent Lott would be blushing, and I've been told by reliable authority (my brother-in-law) that it's impossible for him to do so, or he would have over the cruise liners.

Maybe they'll claim they are just levelling the playing field, making it fair for companies which don't get government subsidies of the kind some farmers get, for instance. Then it would make sense. I hope so, or the cognitive dissonance will give me a headache.
