<From the Observer.
Having stuck their hats up to see if they would get shot off, and gotten no response (at least from people whose opinions matter to them), the leftist nomenklatura are ready to come back out into the open and attempt to bestow their favorite weapon, the Mantle of Stupidity, on Bush again. They hope that this time it will stick. The books will be extensively quoted and reviewed, and the jokes on late night TV will begin to roll.
The one thing working against them is the enormous blind spot they have about how Americans really think. Most of these leftists honestly believe that everyone is just as concerned about which wine to have with imported brie, or where the best cocaine can be purchased, as they are. So some of their shots at Bush, having to do with his "unsophisticated" outlook, just may backfire with a lot of people who are getting sick of liberal elitism.
I guess mugging to reporters, joking around, and making verbal errors apparently makes one much worse presidential material than jamming one's schlong down an intern's throat in the Oval Office and then lying directly into the faces of millions of Americans about it. Of course, that had nothing to do with how he did his job, did it?
"Bush is an idiot" campaign about to move into full swing...
