Does the "War on Crime" have an endgame?
How about the "War on Drugs?" It seems quite a few violations of civil liberties have happened in both of these "wars" and there's no end in sight. Will we ever have a day when we no longer need cops? Will there ever be a day when a) no one uses illegal drugs or b) the drugs are legal? I don't see it happening.
The "War on Terrorism" will go on so long as international terrorist groups pose a threat, as Bush stated in a good speech on Monday.
