Hi Dan,
China will do what it has always done...
sell arms and technology while acquiring a modern capacity to develop a more competitive global force.
They will feign outrage at the slightest perceived insult in classic face-saving tradition.
They will deal with Iraq, Iran and anyone who can pay for their services.
The generational change is the big concern now...the devil you know is often a much better enemy than the one you do not. The young Chinese are fiercely nationalistic and have a chip on their shoulders the size of a block from the great wall.
Their impulsive actions in the region are of much greater concern.
Capitalism has set root - but in that same 1930's gangster era way as it has in Russia.
Fully employing its great resources and human potential - China makes a terrifying adversary to face in as soon as a decade.
My 5 cents,
