It's amazing. You manage to find some of the least credible most paranoid counter-culture people on the web. It's a real talent ;-)

Ms. Fitts spent less than a year at the HUD, where she was promptly terminated for improper conduct.

Her world alongside many of her proponents and partners in paranoid-sleaze-for-profit, like nothing better than to sell the ideas that folks with mind control, sonic ray guns are selling drugs on street corners to fund covert ops and that the HUD is involved in ethnic cleansing.

Yes...all these folks believe that the CIA sells drugs and Bush and all his friends, and all the major corporations are somehow at the apex of the drug -network.

Yet if you look into any of these folks histories - they are either current or recovering drug addicts, recovering alcoholics or have been treated for mental illness. Most of them want drugs legalized - so that their usage will not be criminal.

There is a syndrome among certain addicts that comes with their paranoia. It goes something like this. "I was arrested for drugs - and so the sellers of the drugs who got me hooked and the government who prosecute me must be in this together - they are out to get me!"

Mike Ruppert of copvcia.com is a recovering alcoholic who has made his new career out of pandering his paranoia to all who will eat it up. Surprise! He also sells books of his ramblings to those who will fork over the cash.

Well guess what?

There are a lot of addicts, paranoid-delusionals, drug dealers and conspiracy folks who would LOVE to believe that the government is responsible for their lot in life. Personal responsibility is something these folks can't comprehend.

When they are terminated from their government jobs, fired from the police force or simply arrested for possession of illegal substances - they project their guilt onto the government and some unseen secret conspiracy.

There are literally THOUSANDS of sites out there which peddle this garbage. Each one is easily identified by the paranoid ramblings and always an absolute absence of evidence for any of their assertions.

Common sense needs to be applied to these assertions.

Covert ops need no drug money to fund them! The taxable incomes of John Q. Public provide nicely for that. Each year a SIZEABLE chunk of the budget is earmarked for these unspecified "covert" ops and agencies.

Ethnic cleansing by the HUD is preposterous. HUD is simply a corrupt democratic mill which spends taxpayer dollars in bloated bureaucratic manner for housing, rehab centers and for keeping slumlords running urban barracks, in big bucks.

These fired folks (Like ms. Fitts) have a lot of bitterness and so it is not surprising they make up bad stories about their former employer.

The logic test fails though.

If the HUD is so evil - why in heck would they hire miss "trueheart" Fitts to be Asst Sec. of Housing? Surely they would put in a groomed "ballplayer" who knows just what to do!

Logic and reason just don't support her claims. I read some of her pieces littered over the web and letters to folks in newsgroups - and I think she is clearly off the deep end...and struggling to tread water.

All too often, the folks who read this bile, don't think that far. They just love to hear someone with 'credentials' (real or imagined) blast the government and reaffirm their own conspiracy theory.

Fake news or Paranoid Delusions.

I think I will gladly turn to NBC long before I listen to Ms. Fitts and her extensive global news gathering capacity.;-)

As a public service here are some things to look for in these bogus sites:


A) Paranoia
Do the writers seem paranoid and irrational - do they ramble - do they claim "all this can be proven!"



B) Profit-Motive
Are they selling a book (like Ruppert) or running a website which takes contributions or donations.

C) Are they linked to other non-credible sites? If one spews BS on the web - one likes to be in a ring of equal BS to feel at home.

D) Do they exist in the major media? If they don't it's not because every single person and reporter in the major media is part of the "Fake news" conspiracy - its because they're not credible.

E) Key words to look for "evil corporations", CIA, Bush, Cocaine, Drug-War, etc...together in some combination.



There you have it - five quick ways to discern the sleazy underside of the web from the credible folks.

While its good to know who these folks are (and hope they are not in your neigborhood) if one spends any time reading these sites one gets a splitting headache and a distinct feeling of being dragged into someone's padded cell and forced to listen to them rant for an hour.

After enough time one would soon be screaming and running for the exit.

In scientific parlance these folks operate on a much "lower frequency" than most.
