You know, if liberals were half as concerned about people accumulating political power as they were about people accumulating money, we'd be a lot better off.
The same people who screech about millionaires keeping some of their money due to a tax cut are the same people who cheered when Hillary tried to turn over our health care system to a demonstrably corrupt government. And in our current half-socialist "mixed economy," who do you think would call the shots then? You the patient, or some conglomerate of big medical and drug companies?
Democrats don't like wealth, unless it's in their own pockets or the pockets of their political allies. How many Democratic Senators are millionaires?
Worry more about where the political power is going, not the money. Work to split government away from economics so that we no longer have a "mixed economy" and the corruption that inevitably follows.
How much money was Hitler worth? Mao? Stalin? Who knows and who cares? That didn't really turn out to be the important issue with them, did it?
For some more fun with another leftist who thinks money is only pure in his own pocket, see this post on Michael Moore.
P.S. Face it, the overriding conservative dogma seems to be that if it's good for profits, it's gonna be good for people.
By and large, this is actually true. If you want to look at an extreme, I dare say it is a lot more unhealthy living anywhere in socialist North Korea than it would be living next to the smelliest, rottenest factory in a prosperous nation like the U.S. And in a free society, a polluter can be forced to clean up his act by proving he has violated other people's property rights.
P. P.S. What's with the constant harping on lead in drinking water? There was a flap about arsenic a while back--maybe this is what you are talking about--but I'm unaware of any businesses that increase their dividends by adding lead to drinking water. Oh, BTW, Governor Davis has decided that for our own good he's going to keep poisoning our groundwater with MTBE for another year.
