mostly due to Arafat's neglecting, from the Syrian point of view, to connect the return of the Golan to Syria to the Palestinians' attempts to regain control of the territories (as a springboard to launch further attacks on Israel, of course, like the fine young Palestinian gentleman who droppen in for Passover dinner in Netanya last night).
And Syria controls Lebanon - nearly completely. You don't hear too much about this occupation in the press.
In fact, the Palestinians have nearly as many problems with their Arab brethen as they do with the Israelis. Tom is right on the money - isn't it funny how not one dime of the billions in Arab oil wealth ever seems to find its way into the squallid Palestinian refugee camps??
