Or maybe it's not on Israel's side.

I read an article at Frontpage Magazine that likened Israel to the Crusader Kingdoms of the middle ages. Although I can't find it now, it made several interesting points. It discussed how within the next few decades, the Arab population within Israel (counting the occupied territories) was estimated to be around 27 million while the Jewish population would be around 7 million. It then pointed out a poll taken a few months ago showing that 1 in 3 Israelis aged 18-25 wished to leave the country. This does not bold well for Israel. The article also mentioned that the holocaust generation was rapidly dying off and that they were the main force behind the forming of the country. The Crusader Kingdoms lasted for around 80 years, Israel's been around for just over 50....makes you wonder.
