Bush seems to be playing the Arab game of duplicity. He is tacitly condoning Israel's purge of terrorist cells while supporting the UN withdrawal plan and future peace talks. I expect this will continue through this week and not much more.

How he "engages" in the future will depend on how successful the Israeli expeditions are and how much intelligence they come up with. They have already found damning evidence that Arrafat is arming terrorist factions.

Anyone that can limit their critics to complaining about the level of engagement is probably doing a pretty good job. I am sure the dems wish he would hold still and provide a more stationary target.
