The part that's difficult for me to ignore is that as long as the Palestinian-Israeli losses were 25 to 1, the situation was ignored.
Every once in a while the UN or US would call upon the Israelis to stop building settlements, and the Israeli right-wing fundamentals would remind the government that the Old Testament gave the Jews the land.
So, nothing was done. The world was happy, and the Jewish encroachment continued.
And in this country, the US, the Palestinians are regarded as the instigators.
I wonder how the US would react if the Mexicans started building villages in Arizona, and sent in their army to protect them. I suspect no US government could tolerate that.
Now, imaging the Mexican army occupied Arizona, which had no army of it's own, just a police force. Now, what could the Arizonans do?
And the struggle seems to have no beginning, middle or end. What is ludicrous is to regard any particular action as "retribution" or "instigating". They've been after each other forever.
