No Israeli politician who hopes to be re-elected can stop their right-wing fundamental folks from building settlements, or stop protecting them with the Israeli Army. (The land is considered deeded by God through the Old Testament.)

No self-respecting Palestinian leader can tolerate the encroachment of the Israeli's on their land. (The land is considered deeded by Israel through signed agreements.)

Until suicide bombing the world ignored the situation except for the occasional request to Israel to respect their agreement to stop. No Israeli politician, etc.

The resolution will have to be imposed from the outside.
