Personally, I don't think the technology should be banned any mor ethan I think nuclear fusion research should be banned: Sure it has tremendous potential for abuse. And yes, some will abuse it, but the reserch should be allowed to continue to be advanced.

What if science figured out a way to take a piece of living human tissue, and then nurture it so that it would grow into a complete human... Would we then say that every cell of every human body is a potential human being and therefore all scientific reserch on living tissue samples should be banned? Of course not.

Isn't this really all that human cloning is?
