Sometimes people who are trying to give order to their lives tie together events which are separate, attempting to explain the processes which affect them, processes which they really don't understand. This is likely to happen in this case.

My guess is that these people will try to read the events in Venezeula as a coup by US backed insiders, a coup put in motion as an attempt to prevent any oil embargo against the US.

My other guess is that what really happened was that the President of Venezuela set up a new board of directors for the state oil company, and this board uncovered massive corruption. So the leaders of the oil company simply decided to shut Venezuela down, get rid of the president, get rid of the board, and then continue with crime as usual.

On the other hand, the Tijauna drug cartel went down the other day as well...
