Having just watched the network news, I can say that I can't remember ever wishing a Republican better than I do Powell's effort to get the Middle East situation under control.

* I hope so too.

And, can't say I blame Arafat for wanting the Israelis out of their territory before any talks can take place.

* Yes, and Sharon has called back his troops now... not sure about Ramallah and he stated today that definitely not Bethlehem (stand-off at the Church of the Nativity).

Can't say I understand Sharon refusing to talk with Arafat. Sharon doesn't seem to be a nun.

* I can, to some extent... still Sharon should talk and ultimately, I think he will have to. As for the num relationship there, I don't see it either. Although, I can think of a couple of nuns right now that would not refuse the opportunity.
