<U. S. bomb kills 4 Canadian soldiers
Am I the only person in the whole wide world who is getting sick and tired of reading –
How good the military is getting at close air support, even using B-52s tactically, and
How many allied troops are getting killed by “friendly” fire? Is the military “overreaching”, repeatedly trying that which they can’t do.
I suppose every couple of weeks or so I read about al Qeada or Taliban forces in a shootout, wounding or killing one or two folk.
It seems to me I read a lot about Allied forces killing each other.
The argument could be made that because they have gotten so good at bombing they’ve prevented the enemy from killing many, many more than the “friendly” fire.
That may be true if it’s ever been necessary to call fire on themselves, the theory being that they are being overrun and have no chance without it. Usually, in that case, the friendlys are dug in, with a better chance of surviving than the bad guys.
That doesn’t seem to be the case.
I don’t think they are as good at this as they say and they must be believing their own press releases. It’s a lousy war with more casualties from “friendly” (preventable) fire than from the enemy. And I count the poor pilots as casualties, too. Do your best and kill your own? Not what a person is trained for.

Overreaching?
