Not even worth the breath to comment on details. The Democrats don't give a rat's ass about ANWR, oil, caribou, or anything else except the Prime Directive: take anything proposed by Bush and the Republicans and kill it dead, dead, dead.

A cure for cancer would be voted down if it was a Republican agenda item, spearheaded by Daschle, the famous Unelected Majority Leader.

A similar death by filibuster awaits our tax cuts, and other items that could improve the economy. None of these things ever make it to the Senate Floor for an actual vote, being jammed in the pipeline by manipulating Senate rules. Apparently "every vote must count" is easily discarded by politicians when it serves their purposes.

Have you noticed that since the economy started back upward we haven't heard much coverage on the subject?

I hear that a favorite exercise at the cafes in Washington is for a Republican Representative to sit at his table with a cup of coffee, scribble a proposed bill on a napkin, and then time how long it takes for a Democratic Senator to run over to the table, grab the napkin, rip it to pieces, and swallow the pieces.
