"Official" trips to Cuba tend to be less than accurate as far as what is seen and who is talked to. I don't know enough about the guy you're talking about to know if his trip fell into that category.

All I know is that no one is braving shark infested waters in barely-floating boats and inner tubes to get INTO Cuba.
