Although most Republicans wish he weren't. Democratic ex-Klan members, like Senator Byrd, are apparently forgiven all. The agenda is so much more important than moral consistency.

Admittedly, Duke is a lot more blatant about his racism and antisemitism than Byrd, who only lets the word "nigger" slip out by accident now and then.
