If Arafat has so much "pride," let him wear the next dynamite belt instead of exploiting his cannon fodder.

Israel took the West Bank and other land during a full-bore military war where the goal was the utter extinction of every Jew in the Mideast, and the opponents were Arab tanks, planes and soldiers from several nations. Now it's kids wearing bombs, but it is no less of a war.

In a war, you go into the other guy's "territory" and you hold what you have to. World War II would have gone poorly if there had been a rule that said U.S. soldiers couldn't invade European land.

The Palestinians are damned lucky they have whatever land they have left. Israel could just as easily have followed the lead of most Arab nations and shipped the Palestinians out lock, stock and barrel.
