In fact, Israel wants to get cozier with the Palestinians, witness the 34 new settlements on Palestinian land just since Sharon became Prime Minister.

Just the opposite of "ethnic cleansing", right? (Unless the Palestinians are shut out of the settlements on their land. Then, it would seem to be "ethnic cleansing", gradually taking over their lands.)
