There are a lot of tragedies here. Reminds me of the shape our forests are in. By not letting them burn when they would have naturally, a whole backlog of tinder has built up. When there is a fire it has the potential to be a big one.

40 years ago no one handled sexual harassment well, and just about everyone tried to ignore it. The Roman Catholics seem to have followed the crowd, and with their more centralized authority could do it.

And now, it's all coming out all at once. With Protestants, their Jim Bakkers, Swaggarts, et al., it came out at the time, didn't seem to be such a backlog of cases.

And, among the many losers, are you basic hard-working priest and your basic devout Roman Catholic parishioner.

Sad.
