This is the sort of nonsense article which always comes out following something like this standoff. It plays well, plays endlessly, on the conservative talk shows. Liberals tend to see through them after a while.
Did you notice the first articles stressed the place smelled like urine. Yep. Smelled like urine. Didja know that everywhere people are cooped up for a while smells like urine? Everywhere and always. At least all of 'em I've been in, and/or smelled.
(One way to know there is a God is to realize the "smell" sensors in humans wear down fast. It would not be nice to have sturdy, robust, long-acting smellers.)
Whatcha wanna bet the Israelis cut off all utilities to the place. At least power and water. Tough to flush a toilet if there's no water. Begins to smell like urine. Waco would have smelled like urine if it hadn't smelled so much like smoke and burnt meat.
In fact, in Southeast Asia people would eat very bland, or local, diets to avoid having urine which would be too odorous if they were trying to not be found. Or at least smell "local". Clever little b------s were almost as good as dogs in being able to sniff out strange urine.
And, didja notice some of the early articles pointed out there was no vandalism, no damage for damages sake, only use type damage? It took a while to come up with the real propaganda.
These articles are for the faithful. And, the faithful always, every time, engage their selective outrage and cluck amongst themselves.
Do you really think a drunken, overfed bunch of Palestinians could have held up there in the face of the IDF snipers, listeners, and troops? That the non-Palestinians couldn't have taken advantage, sometime in the middle of that two-week party to raise hell?
Clearly, they ate, drank something, and peed. But the stories of the wild excesses are for the faithful, the already believers.
Like the Iraqis unplugging the incubators in Kuwait. The Believers may have heard it's not true, but write it off as something that would have been done if there were only babies, incubators and plugs. And Iraqis there. It's true, no matter what really happened.
You and I could write 'em, and have the things ready for the next incidents.
