<I need to understand that people who regard using human shields by the good guys as a legitimate tactic and not a war crime, as the rest of the world seems to, just won't see ethnic cleansing, either.

I explained to you before, that since by your theory Jenin is full of innocent, unarmed shopkeepers, that any "human shields" would have been in absolutely no danger. Now, if every door the Israelis knocked on had the potential of unleashing a hail of automatic weapons fire from armed Palestinian soldiers, then you might have a case. Of course, then your preferred image of Israeli soldiers rolling tanks over unarmed women and children might suffer a bit.

Okay, seriously now:

The Human shield report from Human Rights Watch. How much of this is real, and how much fabricated, no one knows. There are interviews with Israeli soldiers here too, which seems to lend credibility to at least some of the accusations.

This is the response from the Israeli State Attorney, where it is ordered that the tactic stop, without admitting that they are doing it in the first place. Lawyers.

It's worth noting that the "human shield" tactic, like many extreme and less-than-humane military tactics, apparently works:

...In a separate interview with Human Rights Watch Muhammad (not his real name), a Palestinian militant who participated in the fighting, corroborated Qataish's account. "The Israelis were in a trap, we could have killed them. But we would have had to kill the boys too. Their brother was with us and begged us not to. We had the chance to kill the twenty-five soldiers, but we did not."

This does not imply my approval of the tactic, any more than I approve of genocide, which is also extremely effective as a military tactic.
