Regarding the quotes in that post.
Moshe Dayan is as extreme as the Israelis are. He was Minister of Defence.
The Israeli Defence Force is the Army, Navy and Air Force. Their Chief of Staff is the equivalent of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in the US. Colin Powell, for example, held that post.
Menachim Benin's kid may be an "extremist", I don't know. I suspect anyone who is Minister of Education isn't an "extremist". And I don't know the other fellow.
Why don't you want to believe what Dayan, or the Chief of Staff, says?
Is holding on to your own prejudices more important than knowing the Israeli attitudes?
Why would a person deny what responsible people say is their attitude, and instead go with what they "know" they meant?
Y'know, I started out just taking a Palestinian position because so many people were clearly viewing this as a Very Good Guy v. Very Bad Guy situation. I knew they were both pretty bad.
And, forced to research it a bit, I have truly come down on the side of the Palestinians. There's no way to avoid the reality of Israel's ethnic cleansing. (I don't know that I blame them for doing it. That's another issue.)
Now, I know why you think the Palestinians are scum. Suicide bombings, killing civilians, trying to drive the Israelis into the sea. Etc. I think I have a pretty good idea.
I think I know why you believe the Israelis are good guys, incapable of doing wrong. All their actions are retribution, retaliation, and collateral damage happens, innocent people get killed and you have to watch out for yourself.
And, you don't know why I believe the ethnic cleansing is coming from the other side.
