And, Reagan was elected, twice. And Reagan wasn't very bright or knowledgeable. Was pretty. I'd have to say that there was something dumber than Reagan operating, both times. A real "balance-the-budget" sort of guy.

I'm no more "bitter" about 2000 than any other patriotic, red-blooded American who believes in truth, beauty and the American way would be bitter. No more upset than anyone who was raised to believe in the sanctity of the ballot box, who was raised to know that what makes American GREAT is the principle that each person, each vote, counts, there is government "of the people, by the people, and for the people".

We liberals are a mellow bunch. Calm, accepting, tolerant, just trying to help our fellow Man, no matter how greedy and stupid they may be. Wisdom and insight are our strong suits, knowing our own limitations and allowing for others.
