Do you know the implications of this situation?
It looks as if it could destabilize the present government. Wonder what that might mean?
Would China get involved? (Notice how we seem to say "China" now, not "Red China"?) On which side? Or, for China? What would that mean?
I know they both have nuclear devices which could be used as bombs. And ways of delivering them. (I'd hate to see that box opened. Everyone would use it as an excuse for using the next one.) Would they do that? Tactically, or strategically?
Would the US be interested? Would the US feel obligated to "tilt" toward the military dictatorship of Pakistan rather than the democracy of India because of the necessity of using Pakistan as a base in the Afghan efforts?
Is there any chance of a long-term settlement? Anyone big enough, credible enough to broker, encourage, or force one which would last?
I'm not saying you can or would be willing to answer these. But someone might be able to point to the answers.
