It can come back and bite you.
In the political fight with Democrats, maybe the Republicans are finally--FINALLY!--going to lose the Little Lord Fauntleroy suit and throw away the big sticky lolly.
A Democratic e-mail was intercepted which goes a long way to revealing the real attitude about senior citizens and Social Security by Democratic party leaders: they don't give a rat's ass about senior citizens except as a convenient political tool to haul out and use against their oppenents.
The e-mail is a short commentary by a Democratic operative on a proposed statement, the latter of course being the usual gigantic, steaming, dung-beetle-infested load of Diplodocus shit that we usually see from the Democratic party.
Not "entirely factually accurate" indeed.
Not like this is a big surprise to some of us. My opinion on Social Security--along with other elderly entitlement programs--has always been that its main purpose is to take the most reliable voting group in America and virtually enslave them to the Federal Government. Almost 41 percent of the total Federal budget is dedicated solely to this purpose.
The good news is that the Republicans, after ignoring dozens of cheap shots, low tricks, Clinton pardons, and other things--apparently in some bizarre attempt to rise "above that sort of thing"--may actually take this one and run with it. Note the links under "See what the Republicans say." Thank God they may finally take the gloves off. Their debating technique has not been the best so far.
A Republican congressman prepares for a debate with the Democrats.
A Republican congressman loses yet another debate with a Democrat.
