<FBI set to unveil reorganization plans

I am sure that the FBI and Justice Department were doing the best they knew how before and after 9-11. Their priorities may have changed since 9-11, but everyone was doing their best.

There may have been information available which would have pointed in the right direction, but there always is. You can always pick and choose and make any psychic right, too.

But why don’t these people wait, cooperate with the inevitable investigation, work together with access to outside information to find out what an optimum arrangement might be, and THEN reorganize.

There may be more ideas, better ideas, new ideas if there is input from people other than the ones who have been doing the job all along.

Every bureaucracy gets hidebound, complacent, and then spends resources trying to cover that up. The FBI under Hoover was great at PR, not a noble organization. It was a political police, operating first to keep Hoover in power by compromising politicians, then to get their budgets up, and only then to perform a mission which was chosen by what looked best.

These folks, and the CIA, have been compromised every which way, and still the same people and systems go plugging along with virtually unlimited amounts of money to spend. I think that’s dangerous, not only for their mission but for the country.

And there may be some incompetent folks there. I’d be surprised if there weren’t, given that no one gets fired, no matter how poorly they perform. Just wish they weren’t the only ones reorganizing themselves. They are also bound to continue to protect themselves, first, then go for budgets, etc.
