I'm not saying anyone could have caught Osama. I'm not blaming GWB for that. I am saying he promised him and so far hasn't delivered. That's all. Not saying anyone could have delivered. Am saying he might wish he hadn't promised, though. (Sort of like a cheerleader before a game, now that I think about it.)

I recall Bush II saying the opposite. He made no guarantees and said the war would be long and hard. My criticism is that he seems to have lost the initiative after a hot start in Afg. He let the predictable distraction of the wacko Palestinians get him off his "axis of evil" gameplan. And domestically, we're still too PC to search for terrorists at our airports, instead we strip search the elderly for nail files.
I believe that if we take out Saddam, we can next enable the vast moderates in Iran to overthrow their religious zealots and then for the desert course, my friends the backstabbing Saudis. Anything less, and this is not the war effort needed to marginalize the terrorists.
