"Security Bill" larded with pork
Both political parties enthusiatically stuffed a $27 billion national security bill with enough pork to balloon it to $31 billion. Standard operating procedure in Washington, with most legislation. Bush may veto it as it stands, which will of course open him up to criticism that he "doesn't want the U.S. to be secure!"
