As I have mentioned before, the IMF is a pile of crap, and we shouldn't be in it any more than we should be in the UN. Throwing economic weight around the world using tax money is the rankest socialism by any definition.

As for UN treaties, there are many reasons why we don't sign up for a lot of them. Most of them have features specifically designed to whack the West generally, and the U.S. specifically, without any real effect on the nations that are forcing these issues. Think of a bunch of mice and an elephant voting on upper weight limits for animals. And do we really need the Third World telling us how to treat women?
