"Should have" is one thing, "could have" is another. The nation is run by "big business", and so long as they exist, they will pretty much do as they wish -- and be profitable. That's the way the nation, and most of the world, operates. And having a politician in your pocket is nowhere near as effective as having a corporation that has several politicians in its pocket in your pocket.
