Update on Cuba's petition efforts

Of 8.2 million registered Cuban voters, 8.1 million signed Castro's petition declaring totalitarian socialism "untouchable." The Valera Project petition, with about 11,000 signatures, struggles on.

I have yet to see any of this on our national news.

The result was not surprising:

Signatures were gathered at more than 120,000 neighborhood sites nationwide, mostly by the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution, local vigilance groups organized block by block.

These "committees" are basically Castro's organized squads of goons, the neighborhood finks, thugs and storm trooper wannabes who track every member of the neighborhood, and are the knock on the door if you step out of line. These are referred to by starry-eyed mutton-headed liberals as "Cuba’s nationwide system of neighborhood watch programs."

Found while looking for references:

Canadian starry-eyed mutton-headed liberals who go down to Cuba and do Castro's shitwork for free.

Elian Gonzalez, property of the State. Thanks a whole bunch, Bill and Janet.

Again, thousands upon thousands of Americans worship at Castro's feet. There must be hundreds of web sites dedicated to the glory of the Revolution. University academics teach how great the Cuban revolution has been and how wonderful Marxism is. Hey, it's a free country, and it's just their opinion.

A question for you all: At what point does the right to an opinion promoting totalitarianism hit hard against the "fire in a crowded theater" rule?

At what point, if any, does it become dangerous for a university to allow professors to teach a certain philosophy? Should it be allowed for an elementary school teacher to tell her students that a railroad track is a good place to play? Why not? It's a free country, and it's just her opinion.

This is not an easy question. Free political speech is the very core of the First Amendment. I would never support government censorship of such things. However, I would heartily support universities refusing to hire Marxists.
