Re: No real point in calling a success a failure . . .

. . . but go ahead.

No, Bowser. Contrary to your constant sensationalizing of the facts, allies and civilians were not, and are not, our main targets.

And about bin Laden. If he's alive, show me. Your logic runs along the line of oh-so-fallible UFOlogists who insist there MUST be UFOs involved in every mystery on the face of the planet -- and elsewhere. I will grant that there is a slight possibility the chief executor of the al-Qai’da is still alive, but this is hardly an iron-clad actuality. Given the physical facts involving bin Laden over the past several months, it is far more likely he is very, very dead.

For Afghanistan in general, what is now needed is for this nation to rebuild, and quickly, as a stepping stone to peace in the Middle East -- and a stepping stone for U.S. intervention.

Intervention is a very nasty word when applied by the United States Armed Forces -- unless, of course, the U.S. should opt to remain aloof and uninvolved in Middle East affairs. Then the world’s critics attack our inaction.

Can’t win that PR battle, so we might just as well move in on the Middle East and a Big Brother Watchdog to stay.

The war on terrorism has hardly been a failure, considering it has only just begun, but you go ahead and believe what you will. Iraq is going down. Iran is in our sights. The rest of the Arab nations are being weeded, as well as the Philippine Islands and a few of the old USSR republics. It’s far from done.

It's already been dragged out all across the 20th century, B, but it still ain't gonna be over 'til it's over,
Dan
