The Swiss air traffic controler repeatedly contacted the Tupolev but never got an answer; it might either be the pilot who didn't understand the controler or who didn't listen to the right radiofrequency. And the Tupolev didn't have the anti-collision system.
There were 50 children coming from Russia on their way to Spain.
