Current Events » in reply to Another good Andrew Sullivan article

This guy ain't quite there yet.

"From Enron to Andersen to Tyco, these were Clinton era abuses, in some cases exposed by the Bush era Securities and Exchange Commission. The same goes for Xerox and WorldCom."

Now, as I recall, WorldCom's accounting problems involved 4 quarters in 2001 and the first quarter of 2002. Of that time, Clinton was president for about 20 days, Bush the rest.

Now, many things have an inertia. They take time to surface. Cancers caused by toxic waste sites are an example. They may be diagnosed in 2002, but may have been forming for 20 years.

Some of those problems undoubtedly started much earlier than the Bush Administration in Washington. Some started, such as Enron, during the Bush Administration in Texas. At that time Ken Lay was on a first nickname basis with the President - Kenny-boy.

And yet this guy claims the WorldCom, Xerox, and Enron problems are the result of Clinton.

Here's the point. These errors should upset the folks on whose side he is trying to be. He looks dumb.

With errors in reasoning like this, why read this guy? Who would give him any credence?

Only a conservative Carville, someone who wasn't concerned with accuracy, facts, or reality.
