Homeland Security gets low priority vs civil service
Patriot Tom Daschle wants to geld the Homeland Security workers bill by making the federales immune to firing. Ideologies or maybe just plain electioneering interests are more important than your safety.
Please tell me one more time why spending Billions to re-hire the same airport bozos to higher paying jobs helps security. Until we adopt the time tested Israeli methods and use highly skilled security people to screen for terrorists, we have no meaningful security. Instead, we'll just pay billions to strip-search grandmothers (as long as they're not obviously Middle Eastern).
