I can appreciate the feelings of the Spann family but when you start talking about double digit years of confinement, it all get sort of relative.

I assume that he will be held in isolation for the 17-20 years he serves. I doubt that he could survive in the general pop. Life after prison will also be tough to impossible if he makes it that long.

I also doubt that he is any more that what he seems to be, a misguided homosexual punk.

He may have known/assumed that Spann (or any other opposition) would be a target but I doubt that he had any special role in the plan more than any green 19 year old Arab would have had.
