A Letter to the Editor
In a time of crisis we must forget labels like Republican and Democrat and demand that our leaders put America first.
Front page headline: "Survey: 37 percent would try to dodge draft." Do college students polled see an insincerity in our leadership when after Sept. 11 President Bush was emphatic in wanting Osama bin Laden "dead or alive" and now is "...truly not that concerned" about finding bin Laden.
While we are marking entangling alliances with the scoundrels of the world and putting our young men in harm's way in places like Afghanistan, we see no move to do our part at home by deporting the millions of illegal aliens.
Life goes on as before and we are as vulnerable as ever.
Do those polled see a United Nations directed no-win war as we had in Vietnam?
Are they concerned that through the UN we are teamed with the terrorist nations of the world such as Russia and China?
While the United States has been busy tearing up Afghanistan, Russia through its friends the Northern Alliance has been taking over half of the country.
