It should be easy to identify who purchased the computers in the US based on the Serial Numbers that are on all computer invoices.
If he bought a few (10 or 20?) Laptops and they were found in Afganistan he will have a big problem.
The rules against exporting technology are there for an important reason. Violating them borders on Treason.
