We need to ask ourselves how would any legitimate group fare under these new rules, not how would I fare.

The so-called "Patriot Act" is frightening, not because of what could be done to me, but how a political regime could use it against anyone they wanted to. Except for being a noisy typist, I wouldn't appear on any screen, for good reason. I'm harmless. Those things still scare me, even though they don't apply to me.
