Were there shootouts all over the place? Nope. There was one road rage shootout about 4 years ago but neither party had permits to carry their weapons.

Did the crime and murder rate increase? Nope, both went down. It seems criminals prefer unarmed victims. Since quite a few people were carrying concealed weapons, it was harder to know who was armed and who wasn't.

In fact, in the last 8 years, not a single one of those permit holders had his/her permit revoked for cause. It seems they actually obeyed the law. Imagine that.

I don't know what kind of people live in your town, but here in the middle of the US, people may just be more rational than in your neck of the woods.
