"All the news that fits our views"
That's the rewritten motto of the New York Times, who used to proclaim they had "All the news that's fit to print."
Remember the recent postings about how Kissinger opposed Bush's Iraq plans? Well, not exactly. According to this piece, Kissinger said in the very article that the New York Times chose to trumpet his objections:
"The imminence of proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, the huge dangers it involves, the rejection of a viable inspection system and the demonstrated hostility of Hussein combine to produce an imperative for preemptive action."
Sure sounds like an endorsement of action to me.
