My post didnt come out quite right...

From http://www.unc.edu/srp/

This year's reading is Approaching the Qur'án: The Early Revelations, translated and introduced by Michael Sells. Although the summer reading is required, if any students or their families are opposed to reading parts of the Qur'án because to do so is offensive to their own faith, they may choose not to read the book. These students should instead complete their one-page response on why they chose not to read the book

Tell me, would this reading have even have made a single news story if it was LAST summer
I very much doubt it.

I dont think there is initimidation.
Many people will be wanting to make names for themselves amongst their peers by stating why they didnt want to read it.

My 2 cents on the POA - it is government mandated that the words "under God" are in there.
i.e. the govt is making a requirement to say it.
i.e. no separation between church and state.
What the heck does that have to do with reading a book about the Koran?

Cheers,
Tony
