The Romans introduced the aquaduct and since then mankind has helped increase human lifespans with improved sanitation.

One seriously has to question the sanity of the folks who engage in this type of talk. Do they really seek the dark ages or do they like to hear themselves speak? Did they fall on their heads as children? What is the deal?

Anyway - since global warming is inevitable - there will be a LOT more water coming down from the melting glaciers. It's time to build those global desalinization plants with Greenpeace membership dues. ;-)
