My subject heading almost sounds like
a title for a bad 1950's B-Movie.

Passin' through Northern Mississippi,
I observed huge swaths of ground by the roadsides and nearby woods covered and choked with what looks like, from a distance, a creeping spreading green "thang".
It looks scary.
I tell you, that plant seems to overwhelm everything in the Mississippi
woods. Pine trees are ensnared, choked
and enveloped by that "plant from hell".

I hate to see what would become of the
South's lumber and pulp & paper industry
in 50 years if that spreadin' thang really
overwhelms the southern woods.

I read up on Kudzu vine. What I read
on it is rather sobering if not disturbing.
It grows astonishingly fast.
