<This is how the state legislature works, folks. This would be almost funny, if we didn't live under a government system where the state is given nearly absolute control of economic activity and most everything else.
Mixed economy = corruption. Put it on a post-it and stick it to the monitor.
Oh, and when I listed the crap heading for the governor's desk in California recently, I missed this little beauty.
20 percent from renewable resources by 2017, or else. Force. If it seems like a good idea, we need to point guns at people to make them do it. For the record, California's renewable energy sources, are about 12 percent of the total. Nationally, we are looking at 2 percent. Note that "burning wood" (which emits CO2) is approved as a renewable resource. Meanwhile the California Left is running around making fireplaces illegal. Note also that new hydroelectric, now on the environmental shitlist, doesn't count.
It goes without saying that this is going to be just as successful as the ghastly regulatory morass that wrecked California's electrical system in the past couple of years, or the dumbass rule about a certain number of cars being zero-pollution by a certain year. If liberals learned from experience, this wouldn't be happening. But, as we can see from the large number of professors who still advocate Marxism, real-world experience is not a major factor in their decision-making.
Naturally, when this new rule goes tits-up, they will blame capitalism, just like they did with the regulation fiasco.
Sausage being made.
