The speaker named four men -- Mohammed Atta, Marwan Al-Shihhi, Hani Hajour and Ziad Jarrah -- as the leaders of the US terror attacks, prayed for their souls and praised them.

Excerpts from a video have been televised in which a voice thought to be Osama bin Laden's is heard naming the leaders of the September 11 hijackers.

Though the identity of the speaker cannot be confirmed, his voice sounded similar to those heard in previous tapes aired by Al-Jazeera in which he appeared.

The US maintains Bin Laden was behind the attacks on New York and Washington.

The full tape would be shown Thursday, according to Al-Jazeera. It is thought the tape was filmed in Kandahar, Afghanistan.
